Many Tweens feel displaced in the library—too young for the children’s programs, yet not quite ready for the programs designed for teenagers. (This is where the term ‘tween’ comes from: between child and teenager.) The purpose of the group is to give kids a place to go to participate in various activities and crafts designed to further a love of reading and engage with peers. Activities usually include snacks.
Due to the requirement of background checks for adults in contact with minors, parents are not allowed to stay in the activity room, but are welcome to remain in the building.
